More than 1.4 million people in the United States are on waiting lists for a knee replacement, according to a new study.
The number of people waiting for a new knee replacement in 2016 was the highest since 2005.
More than 4 million people have knee replacement surgery in the U.S. each year, according the National Institutes of Health.
It’s one of the most expensive procedures in the country, with the average cost per patient approaching $1.4 billion.
But in some areas, like New York City, knee replacement surgeries have skyrocketed in recent years.
The city has seen a massive increase in demand for knee replacements.
According to a 2016 study from the Kaiser Family Foundation, demand for hip replacements is the highest in the nation.
And the number of hip replacement surgeries in New York rose from 1,200 in 2005 to more than 3,800 in 2016.
New York has the highest rate of knee replacement procedures in North America, and a growing number of orthopedic surgeons are focusing on this area.
“Our focus is to get knee replacement patients to the office within the next 12 months, but the number is growing,” said Dr. Robert L. Zolli, who is leading the New York-based orthopedics team at the University of Southern California.
Zellis team is one of several large surgical centers in the city that specialize in knee replacements and other knee surgery.
It started in 2003 when he joined the group and has grown to include more than 300 surgeons.
He said that since 2000, his patients have been waiting at least a year for their knee replacement.
Zelleris patients have had to make tough choices in order to have their knee replaced.
They had to find a surgeon who could do the procedure quickly and easily, and he said he has had to work hard to find surgeons who have the experience and expertise to perform the surgery safely.
Zolleris patients also had to travel far and far to get their knee replacements done.
That’s because they need to have surgery done in the same hospital where they’re getting their knee replace.
They have to have the surgeon who specializes in knee replacement perform the procedure, and they have to travel from one location to another.
In the past few years, the number has grown exponentially.
The average wait time for a hip replacement in the New Jersey area was more than three years.
In New York, the average wait for a non-operative hip replacement has been nearly six years.
Zelmanis team has had some success finding surgeons who specialize in orthopedically treating knee replacements, and Zellys patients are not alone.
“A lot of patients are looking for surgeons to perform hip replacement, and the people who specialize here are making sure that those people get the treatment they need,” said Zelleri.
Zelli says that since 2013, he’s had three people ask for a surgery to remove a torn ACL.
Zllis patients do not have to worry about getting surgery in their home state.
“The state of New York is very much a center of excellence,” Zelli said.
